Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's first ever art exhibition - "KYARY PAMYU PAMYU ARTWORK EXHIBITION 2011-2016" - to be held at Laforet Harajuku in December!

To date, Japan's pop princess Kyary Pamyu Pamyu has released CDs totalling 18 different CD jackets. It has been announced that each of these will be on display at the "KYARY PAMYU PAMYU ARTWORK EXHIBITION 2011-2016" which will begin on December 16th at Laforet Harajuku. Art director Steve Nakamura has been in charge of the art direction for Kyary's releases since her debut in 2011. The CD jacket for her debut mini-album "Moshi Moshi Harajuku" won the "Music Jacket Award 2012". Steve Nakamura is truly one of a kind and has continued to receive high praise for his brilliant style. At long last, you'll be able to see all of this work together in one place at Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's first ever artwork exhibition. In addition to every CD jacket design being present at the event, there will be well over 100 images on display including unseen photos from Kyary's photobooks that are available exclusively within her album releases, outfits and wigs worn by Kyary herself, interactive displays of the jacket images, and much, much more. This is the ultimate Kyary Pamyu Pamyu artwork exhibition collecting together 5 years of work since her debut.

I am extremely honoured to have an exhibition made where lots of people can see all of my CD jacket designs. I'm trying a lot of different things out for the photobook pictures, so I hope people will enjoy seeing something a little different from my usual self at the artwork exhibition.

Kyary's artwork compiled entirely into one visual book!

In conjunction with Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's upcoming "KYARY PAMYU PAMYU ARTWORK EXHIBITION 2011-2016", it has been announced that a book compiling around 300 images from Kyary's photobooks - that are available exclusively within her album releases - is to go on sale. It is her first release together with art director and designer Steve Nakamura, who has been responsible for the art direction of Kyary's releases since her debut in 2011. The book will also feature a commentary by Steve Nakamura himself detailing how he commited himself to Kyary's personality and how he was able to give rise to such an iconic visual style. It will go on sale at all bookstores nationwide in Japan and Amazon on December 8th.
